500wordsite.com Links - Are They Bad?
Ok so I was recently asked on a forum “So why would the SE’s look at your site any differently than they would look at any old link farm? Why would paying you $25 benefit my site any more than placing a non-reciprocal link in a free directory would? Its a useless site.”
This was my response:
“Let me enlighten you with some basics… First off you will have a “keyworded text link direct to your website” and if you do not see the relevance in that then do not read further… Secondly my content auto-updates with NEW content and the structure of the site also changes (again the search engines love dynamic content). Thirdly my site makes use of XFN tags. Fourthly my site is constantly being updated with new pages and adding posts to the blog which in turn generate’s PR that can then be shared with the links.In summary, you will have a keyworded text link pointing to your website from a high traffic, dynamic website. If that to you is bad, then simply do not buy a link, instead and take hours submitting your website to useless directories (dont get me wrong im not saying that all directories are bad).
Did the milliondollarhomepage die out? not entirely, most people who bought ads there still get much traffic from them. Infact lets take a look at milliondollarhomepage.com, it is still ranked at around 6000 on alexa long after it has been news worthy…”
So, ok, maybe I went a bit over the top but it always annoys me when people act like they are an expert in a field and post abolute rubbish, it normally goes to prove how little knowledge on the subject they actually have.
